Mt Vesuvius views at sunset in August

Sommer-colored dusk is coming on in a Sorrento garden just above the sea. The volcano is clearly visible in the distance, just across the waters of the Gulf of Naples. The sky is clear and slightly pinkish, the air is moist and warm and very still.

This is just like in the tropics, including the cicades chirping all along ...
