Colorful fashion from Positano

2012-08-20

What is so special about Positano and its fashion style. It is - as John Steinbeck wrote:
"Positano bites deep. It is a dream place that is not quite real when you are there and becomes beckoningly real after you have gone."
This also applies to the merchandise produced here in Positano and in particular to fashion that reflecst the environment which is so ethereal, descending like a dream on visitors from the northern countries. For a start I can recommend reading the article on Colori e moda mare a Positano
Colors reflect the yellow rays of the sun, deep blue sea and bougainville and wisteria color shades and the blindingly white vaulted houses. Features are lace and light cotton gowns, though for the colder season to come some stores also offer scarfs, knitted hats and gowns, all colorful as you can see in the picture below featuring Louise Positano located in Via Mulini 11. Via Mulini a narrow cobbled street leading home sometimes quite steep towards the main church of Positano, Santa Maria Assunta.
Here is a picture of their outside, with knitted garments for the colder season just round the corner.

In 2011, this shop celebrated its 50th year of business, and they have published a breathtakingly colorful book featuring life and fashion from Positano, that can be viewed online.
