I love spending Sunday afternoons in one of these three places - in particular. Enjoying a fine cup of espresso alla Napolitana, fitting into the colors by the sea if served in colorful cups like this:
Hotel Royal's espresso is served in colorful cups and saucers |
So, personally, I have chosen three places:
One spot in Sorrento, it is Hotel Royal's terrace, overlooking the Sorrento harbor, Gulf of Naples with Vesuvius and Naples itself: From the Terrazza delle Sirene you get the most beautiful view, and a backdrop of wisteria and colorful flowerbeds, too.
Behind these flowerbeds and plam groves, to the far left, you can see the edge of this terrace, where the terracotta flower pots have been placed |
And this is the terrace, with a wisteria-shaded veranda, and seats in the fronts with a marvelous view |
One location in Capri, it is the rooftop cafe part of the House and Gardens of Axel Munthe, called Cafe Oliv. Here you can enjoy not only an excellent espresso, but also a torta caprese al cioccolato oppure al limone, or the Capri specialty "Caprilù", and sit in a white ambience between the pine trees, look out at Ischia half hidden behind the mist and trees. Here, it is absolutely calm and so good for rewinding and filling up with energy at the same time.
The third location is in Positano, on the terrace right in the midst of a lemon and orange grove, smelling so sweetly especially at the end of April: La Zagara's coffee is excellent, and so is their cannolo that I usually enjoy with it. You can view this wonderful terrace via this link you can even enter and walk around their terrace (Google Business).
